Auto Formatting telephone number fields

I just got a new work notebook computer with Outlook 2003 under Windows
Professional XP. I transferred my contacts to the new notebook computer.
However, using my old notebook, I could enter a new contact and when I moved
to the telephone fields, I could just enter a number such as 5123125555 and
after I moved to the next field, it would automatically be formatted as (512)
312-5555. However, on the new notebook, it does not format the field. I
have tried everything I can think of to get this to format automatically, but
I can't get it to do that. How do I get it to format that field?

Outlook Locks when adding telephone number (Windows XP using Outlook 2003) Just recently I can not add or change the telephone number for a contact. Outlook shows the hour glass then is not responsive. I have tried to run repair and then reinstalled Office 2003. No new programs, hardware or sof

Remove both "1" and "+" in front of phone number in Outlook I am having troubles to reomve the "1" and "+" in front of phone numbers in Contact.
