I just transferred my Outlook over to a new Vista laptop using the Vista easy
transfer program with an easy transfer cable. Everything seems to work
except now I can' access my contacts list when sending an e-mail. When I
try to check the "Show folder as an e-mail address book" box for my contact
list it is grayed-out and I am unable to check it. Why? What can I do? I
can find nothing in Help.

Hi Alan

you must "add" the contact folder as Outlook Addressbook:

have a look on this site :

"Add or remove an address book"
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA101642081033.aspx

General information about Address Books in Outlook 2007:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/CH102499811033.aspx

Maybe it helps.

This usually happens when there are actually TWO Address Books named
"Contact"

I am having the same troubles as Alan 77056... I transferred outlook over to
a new vista pc. Everything seems to work except now I can' access my
contacts list when sending an e-mail. Also, when i open the address book
from the tool bar, under address books, I get a blank list (where I used to
get a list of outlook address books ). I see all my contacts and adress books
in the contact views.

I tried to add the contact folder(s) as outlook folder according to the
microsoft directions by checking the "Show folder as an e-mail address book"
box for my contact list it is grayed-out and I am unable to check it. Why?
What can I do? I
can find nothing in Help.
