I have customized the fields to view in my accounts list using BCM. However,
the fields I've chosen do not save if I leave BCM or outlook. How do I
customize the view and keep it?

James,
Not intuitive but go to your "Search Folders" on your email folder window
pane (at the bottome), right click "Search Folders" and select new search
folder, you will then get a window pane that allows you select accounts and
to save a filtered view....you can re-access this folder.....
Did this help?

Chad,
I'm confused. This is what I need to do? I'm trying to keep the fields
I've chosen to view in the Account List when I've selected Accounts in BCM.
I tried to do this but the same thing has happened. Once I leave the
account list view, customized with fields selected to view, the list view
reverts back to the default fields.

Are you going back to "BCM Home" tab and then to "Accounts"? If so, you're
just getting the standard view. Don't do this.
You need to make the search folder, label "my custom account view folder"
(or whatever), save the folder, and then go back to it.....I use this to
customize my Opportunites... I had the same complaint as you did.
So my question is: Are you following my instructions and then going back to
the bottom of you email window pane, looking under "Search Folders" / "my
custom account view folder", and double clicking? This is what you should be
doing (I'm pretty sure).
If you want to provide your email, I'll send you my number and you can call
me if need.

Gentlemen:
Do save the customizations for a View, click on View, Current View, Define
Views. I like to make a copy of the view I want to customize, then Modify
that view. When you save it there, it will keep your changes from session
to session. The customizations you're doing are designed to revert to the
"defined" view.
Search Folders are a great way to create and maintain dynamic subsets of
your data based on conditions you create in the filter.

Lon

James, I only just noticed your post. You will see from my post 10/25/2007
that I noted the same issue. It would appear that BCM is not saving changes
to its pre-defined views. I am sure this is a bug (as you will see from my
post it was also happening with other non-BCM views) and a rather annoying
one. It doesn't say much for the QA of their testing for its a rather
obvious flaw. |

Hi - I have tried several timed to click on View, Current View, Define Views.
I define my custom view (all the fields I like to see) and Name it (By Last
Name, for example) and it makes a lovely little button on the Current View
with the name I chose. Unfortunately, it does not save, and is gone as soon
as I navigate away from Business Contact or Accounts. Very strange.

Be calm and follow carefully the explanations from our colleagues. I
did and it worked. Just some hints (sorry to be repetitive)from my own
exp:
-Yes, create a new folder under search folders (mail pane, not visible
on contacts pane)
-After selecting the items you want to manage (ie create a new view)
contacts, accounts, ops..., modify that view with the filters you
want. I have even defined some User Defined fields and I could use it
in my new view.
-Then change the name of that view. right click on the new folder you
just created OR right click on the header bar of the view and chose
change name...
This way you can use your new view when you want...and even more you
can use the results of that view (as per the filters and rules you
define) as the base list ("personalized list) for a marketing
campaign.
Good luck |

And what Lon said
"Do save the customizations for a View, click on View, Current View,
Define
Views. I like to make a copy of the view I want to customize, then
Modify
that view. When you save it there, it will keep your changes from
session
to session. The customizations you're doing are designed to revert to
the
"defined" view."
ALSO works and keeps the modifications "from session to session" an
appears at the bottom of the predefinned views for Professional
Contacts (if this is the case) |

I have a problem with clearing an existing filter. Used a filter in
Customize Current View, Advanced to filter Accounts displayed as "Accounts
List." When task completed opened "Customize Current View/Filters" selected
"Clear All." The view returned to all Accounts, as desired. But, when I
exited and returned to Accounts the old filter was reactivated -- It was
never saved, at least not intentionally. How do I permanently delete this
filter? Thanks!
