Hello:

On Windows XP with IE6 and SP2 when a person tries to delete several
messages in the newsgroup Outlook express has default settings that will
tell you that messages in the collapsed conversations will also be deleted
and asks if you want to continue. Well I am working on a computer that the
box got checked that said not to remind again.

I have been in and out of all the options I can find and I have not found a
way to restore the message. I am sure there should ne an option somewhere or
at the very least a registry key that needs a simple change from a 0 to a 1
or visa versa.

Thanks to anyone who knows where to fix this issue.

Navigate to this key:

Start | Run and type in:

regedit

OK | HKEY_CURRENT_USER | Identities | GUID (Long series of letters &
numbers) | Software | Microsoft | Outlook Express | 5.0 | Don't Show
Dialogs.

Find the correct one, (Delete Thread Warning), in the right hand pane and
delete it, or change the value to 0, (zero).

Bruce;

Thanks this is what I needed, the machine in question has been restored.

Sorry it took so long to reply back but just been real busy in the past
week.

Anyway I work on computers all the time and it is my job to keep the network
going. However there are times like these that you just can't find what your
looking for without coming here.

I even have a several hundred page book on the registery and could not find
this key. So what I am wondering is do you know of any source that actually
lists all of the things you can do with the default set of registry keys
that come with Windows XP.

Of course I know that any program or other add on will change or add to the
registry but for example in this case if I had a cheat sheet to read I could
have avoided writing here.

If you don't have any idea where to find this thing if it exists do you have
any special method that you could suggest to help one find what they may
need in the registry?

Thanks

YW. I would ask your registry question in the XP newsgroup. My registry
knowledge doesn't venture far from what is OE related.
