Hello,

I just replaced my 6 (? or so ?) year old PC a few days ago, and I need
to know how (if it's possible) to bring back up my Outlook Express Email
Account. I would like to get in, check my email, and retrieve all the
hundreds of emails in there when I disconnected my old PC before installing
the new one. Is this possible, or did I completely LOSE all of my old email
and my whole account? I've had the email addy for lots and lots of years!!
I'd hate to have to start over from scratch?!! I'd also like to retrieve my
address book!! Is there any way that I can retrieve my Outlook Express
Account as I left it??!! Thanks for any info and help.

You need to make copies of all your OE stuff on your old computer and
import it into OE on the new computer. Your email address will still be
the same as long as you are with the same ISP as before. You need to
configure OE with the same information as is on your old computer -
server names, password, email address etc.
This link should help with the backup - which can be used for
transferring to a new PC or in case anything goes wrong with OE. (You
should make regular backups in any case.)
