Fwd message attachments cant be opened but fw can

My friend cant click on and open Fwd:*** messages attachments on her Office
2003 - outlook program (unless saved first) but can open FW: or any other
standard attachment.
Can anyone please advise the reason for this?

Is she using the Mac or Windows version?

Try double clicking the attachment.
