I am writing a vb.net add-in for outlook 2003, and need to know what is the
best way to retreive a mail item's PR_SEARCH_KEY MAPI property since CDO is
not supported.

For Outlook 2003 you'd need to use a COM wrapper for Extended MAPI such as
Redemption (www.dimastr.com/redemption) or an equivalent.
