Outlook Express comes with Internet Explorer.

Office XP includes Outlook XP (aka Outlook 2002) which is a completely
different mail program.

If I understand you correctly, you have Gmail working with Outlook
Express but are having problems getting it to work with Outlook XP?

Use the following newsgroups for questions or problems with

I have specifc message ( BTinternet) that

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's

'mail.btinternet.com', Server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server
Response: '530 authentication required - Your email could not be sent. To
fix this you must make a simple change to your email (known as SMTP
authentication). For advice visit www.btyahoo.com/smtp', Port: 587,
Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 530, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

If you follow the error message, it tells you to go to

www.btyahoo.com/smtp

There they have a program that you can run that will fix the settings in
either Outlook Express or Outlook.

They also provide a link to manual instructions for a variety of mail
programs.

In OE this is specified in Tools, Accounts, Mail, Properties, Servers,
Outgoing Mail Server, My Server Requires Authentication.

Outlook has a similar setting. Its location depends on the version of
Outlook. See:
How to Configure Internet E-mail Accounts
