I am having problems opening MS Office attachments in Windows Mail. When I
click on them Mail goes into a Not Responding state. Other attachments open
OK. I have looked at the file associations and they look fine. Double
clicking saved files opens them with no problem. Can anyone suggest an action
to fix this?

You often have to install Outlook, preferably version 2003 or later, to be
able to read such attachments. It comes with some of the versions of
the Office software, but not with some of the cheaper versions.

Robert

I already have Outlook installed but use Windows Mail for my email. Surely
Windows Mail should be able to open attachments!?

Try this fix:

If that does not solve the problem, upgrade to Windows Live Mail:
