set up an entry in your address book called "Undisclosed Recipients" with
your own address.
when you create a new message, click on the little address book icon next to
the "TO" line and select Undisclosed Recipients, as the "TO" and select your
multiple anonymous recipients to be "BCC" for blind copies

Suggestions on using a mailing list in Outlook Express (Windows):
- In the Address book select New Group, give it a name (e.g. Bob's Mailing List BCC), and
then use Select Members to add the desired contacts to the group
- In the Address book select New Contact, give it a name (e.g. Bob's Mailing List) and
enter your own e-mail address
- When you want to send to the list, in the TO field select the "Bob's Mailing List"
entry and in the BCC field select the "Bob's Mailing List BCC" group. Recipients will see
"Bob's Mailing List" in the TO field (which looks better than "Undisclosed Recipients"
which sounds like spam, and may get filtered out by some ISP anti-spam filters), they will
not see the name or address of any of the people in the list and you will get a copy of
the message.
(With OE5+ you have to check the option to View, All Headers in a Mail composition window
in order to see the BCC field.)
Note: Your ISP sets the limit for the number of names per group. If you exceed their
limit, they will refuse to send the message. Check with them for their limit. Limits are
typically in the 10 to 100 range, with 50 being fairly common.

If you want each person's name, and only their name, to appear in the TO field, you need
to send a separate message to each person. That is the nature of mail on the Internet.
When you send one piece of mail to multiple people, they all get identical TO and CC
fields. The only way to get unique TO and/or CC fields is to send separate messages.
It's tedious to do that in OE. There are some bulk mailer programs designed for this.
You might try the shareware sites. There are links to shareware sites in the URL in my
signature. Also, Outlook2000+ can do this as part of an e-mail/merge.

Dear Sterling
I thing it's a cool suggestion, but in this way we cannot see the names of
all recipients in our "Sent Items" box. I think it would be much nicer if we
could see the names of BCCs in our sent items.

Hi Javad,

You *can" see the names of the BCC recipients.in your SENT ITEMS folder.

Open SENT ITEMS folder | right click the header of the E-Mail you sent |
click PROPERTIES | click DETAILS.

Good Luck.

You can't get it there. The only way you can see the BCC is by looking at the message
properties in the Sent Items folder.

The only place that Outlook Express graphical interface acknowledges the existence of the
BCC is in the message composition window.
