Hello...HELP!
My mom had a Pentium 233...windows 98...and we had Outlook Express
5...corrupted module occured last week in Outlook Express and I reloaded
Outlook express 5 successfully I thought!!! However....she can now send and
receive..but...now when she receives her email...it is put in an attachment
file (.htm ) ..the same thing was occuring for sending email yet I fixed that
by changing the format in sending files in HTML format NOT plain
text....but...I can't change her Receiving Mail to be in HTML format so the
incoming mail is right on the screen as the body of her email..one extra step
to open the attachment file is disturbing for her (she is 82 years old). She
had this before the corrupted module problem occured..so..did I download and
install the wrong version???and how do I install Outlook Express 5.06?? I
understand Outlook Express 6 which I have is NOT for Windows 98....
How can she receive email and the contents of her email is listed right on
the screen without opening an attachment file???Please...help...I am
frustrated for her and myself!!

I see that you posted a similar message on the OE5 newsgroup as well.

To recap:

If you haven't already done it, shutdown and restart Windows. This
sometimes fixes the problem.
- If you still have a problem then try Start, Run and enter:
regsvr32 inetcomm.dll
- If that doesn't help, then see if the fix in this article applies:
OLEXP: Message Appears Blank and Has an ATT000XX.txt or ATT000XX.htm
Attachment
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=312351
- If that doesn't help, then in Internet Explorer, select View,
Encoding and uncheck Auto-Select and choose instead "Western European
(ISO)". Then try reading your messages.

The Read in Plain Text is new to OE6 SP1. So your mother wouldn't have
that option unless you some how installed that version or ended up the
mixed parts of two or more versions.

In addition you can install IE6/OE6 on Win98. (They won't install on
Win95 where IE5.5/OE5.5 is the latest version). The SP1 version of
IE6/OE6 will install on Win98 but not the SP2 version which is for XP.
Note that you need to install IE6 as OE6 will not work properly with IE5
