Would some one help me on to Receive/Send from pop/smtp.gmail.com server
client.

I do opened an account in my Outlook Express 6.00.2600.0000, as client to
receive and send mails from the Gmail server.
It went fine on sending & receiving mails from at about 6months back. Well,
my computer operates with Windows98SE (ver: 4.10.2222A).

Perhaps, since few months I could not successful in receive and send mails
from Gmail server.
---------See Below Problems and Message Appeared-----
A secure connection to the server could not be established. Account:
'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995,
Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC1A
---------See Top Problems and Message Appeared-----

The setting I made as per Google help page, like the following way
GMail Instruction Manual for E-mail Configuration || Gmail Now Offers
POPAccess
To configure your client manually:
1/Open Outlook or Outlook Express.
2/Click the 'Tools' menu, and select 'Accounts...'
3/Click 'Add,' and then click 'Mail...'
4/Enter your name in the 'Display name:' field, and click 'Next.'
5/Enter your full Gmail email address (username@gmail.com) in the 'Email
address:' field, and click 'Next.'
6/Enter 'pop.gmail.com' in the 'Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:'
field. Enter 'smtp.gmail.com' in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:' field.
7/Click 'Next.'
8/Enter your Gmail username (including '@gmail.com') in the 'Account name:'
field. Enter your Gmail password in the 'Password:' field, and click 'Next.'
9/Click 'Finish.'
10/Highlight 'pop.gmail.com' under 'Account,' and click 'Properties.'
11/Click the 'Advanced' tab.
12/Check the box next to 'This server requires a secure connection (SSL)'
under 'Outgoing Mail (SMTP).'
13/Enter '465' in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP):' field.
14/Check the box next to 'This server requires a secure connection (SSL)'
under 'Incoming mail (POP3).' 15/The port will change to 995. (in my OE
(993))
*The order of 'Outgoing' and 'Incoming' mail server fields varies by
version. Make sure you enter the correct information in each field.
16/Click the 'Servers' tab, and check the box next to 'My server requires
authentication.'
17/Click 'OK.'
Congratulations! You're done configuring your client to send and retrieve
Gmail messages.
* Did you click 'Save Changes' after enabling POP in Gmail? To ensure that
Gmail can communicate with your mail client, be sure to click 'Save Changes'
on the Gmail 'Mail Settings' page.

What to do?? Thanks for any suggestions or links.
Expectedly,
Biswa N Das,
India

future from you then you must send me the link or command line for such
request upon which I can make to you. Please protect me from Spoof (fake)

From your headers, Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2600.0000, I would start
by going to Windows Updates and download the dozens of updates you are
missing and then try to fix this problem.

I also request you to post to the newsgroup and NOT to individuals so
that all may benefit from the exchange. Private email is not answered
unless I personally request it. Please extend me the same courtesy which
you are expecting above.

Dear Biswa,

I just found your message from 2 years ago. In this moment I have the same
problem as you had then. Could anyone help you? Do you still remember how
you solved your problem? Could you tell me?
Thank you very much

0x800CCC1A = Unable to connect using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).

See the following to check your settings.
Configuring your email client: Outlook Express and Outlook
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=13276&topic=1556

Note: if your anti-virus is set to scan e-mail or you are using an
anti-spam program, either could interfere with the connection to the
mail server.
