I have 2 e-mails accounts (both are with hotmail, the basic free accounts)
and I would like to know if I can forward automatically e-mails from one
account to the other account.
If I can indeed do that:
do I have to use outlook or outlook express?
do I have to pay a subscription?
and how do I set this up?
Thank you

X-post to MSN Discussion newsgroup

You MAY be able to do that if you're a Hotmail Plus or MSN Premium
subscriber.

No automatic forwarding is possible.
Nor could it be done in OE since rules can not be used on http accounts.

Although Maud can't forward mail from one account to the other, she can set
up MSN Explorer or OE to automatically download messages from both accounts.
The messages will be downloaded to different Inbox folders, but after a
while you find that this is bearable.

In MSN Explorer, go to Mail & More, Help & Settings, Email Settings,
Additional email accounts, Additional MSN and Hotmail e-mail accounts, Add
Account, then fill in the information.

In Outlook Express go to Tools, Accounts..., Add, Mail... and use the Wizard
to set up a new Hotmail account. In the Email Server Names screen, "My
incoming mail server is a HTTP server" and "My HTTP mail service provider is
Hotmail". Repeat for the other account. OE will leave a copy of downloaded
messages on the Hotmail server until they are deleted either in OE or on the
web site.

There doesn't appear to be any way to do this online at the Hotmail web
site.

No, I meant as an Mail Option at www.hotmail.com (with a Hotmail Plus or MSN
Premium subscription) or as an option in MSN Mail.

There aren't..
I suspect the author is incorrect or mixing up the terms since all legacy pop3 accounts can be setup as pop3 or http accounts or access via the web *or* since a legacy of fee based account uses OE its being termed as pop3 even though its http.

The only other possibility would be that the http server currently used for OE/OL on fee based accounts is also going to be converted to the pop and smtp live.com, port 995, SSL settings.

I still think the author is in 'flashback' mode.

I wasn't aware that there ever were Hotmail accounts with POP3 access.
