Greetings all.
I have started to get a problem with email messages that have a message
attached as a msg file. When I click on the link to open the file, I am
told that I do not have a program to open the file. I thought that Windows
mail should be able to do this.
I associated notepad to the extension and managed to open the file. I get
lots of gobbledygook, telling me where the file came from and all the
information regarding the formatting etc..... then at the bottom of the
page is the email text..
Is there a way of getting windows mail to simply open up the email?

Thanks in advance....

Nig

Don't forget Windows have safety program like Windows defender, Firewall,
antivirus, etc,etc..............
when an attached is not good (maybe with virus, Trojan, worm, personal data,
etc,etc........) the safety program delete the attaches. Now you can not
open this program. This called the safety. It is good for computer and for
you. You lost the attached.

Save the .msg file. Rename the file extension to .eml.
Now it should open in Windows Mail.

Files with the MSG extension are usually saved from Outlook and are not
readable from most other mail programs. Try saving it and open it with
Notepad.
