I receive this message when trying to access newsgroups.
I have turned off the firewall and security. What do I do next?

Pop3 is not a server. You obviously have the wrong settings. You posted here
OK, so I assume it is with another server than MSNews?

Use the CORRECT name for the POP3 server host that your newsgroups
provider tells you to use. The IP name for the POP3 mail host
includes a hostname, domain, and top-level domain, as in
.. (e.g., pop.nspdomain.com). Just "pop" is hardly
a fully-qualified hostname. |

Your host must have newsgroups on there server otherwise
you can not subscribe to it as far I can tell you.
However if you have verizon subscribing is very simple.
Go to outlook Express (top of your email folder) click on it
page will open top of page you will see new mail/read mail
very next paragraph subscribe to newsgroups click on it and
fallow instruction however there are some recent changes
in for Verizon subscriber type in as fallow (news.verizon.net)
you may require sing in it will be same as you email with
exception that you are need to do this only one time.
Good luck
